It feels like the starting pistol is pretty weak in the long run, and relying on it is pretty dangerous. Well, two runthroughs actually but one I don't need help with. Now, though, I'm trying to do another runthrough. My first run I did as a Tremere with a decent enough melee skill to actually defend himself without Thaumaturgy.
